Title: Engraving polished surface
Post by: czrobi on November 09, 2016, 02:37:18 AM
Hi Guys, I am from Hungary and new in laser engraving. I engrave anodized aluminium, but have a new workpiece with polished anodized surface. Its like a mirror. My question is: can I engrave this surface without damage the laser head? I am afraid, it reflects the laser beam back to the head. Any suggestion? Thanks! :)

It is difficult to say, it is unlikely you would damage anything as the beam will be out of focus once returned to the lens.

If the surface etches when hit with the laser it will not really reflect much anyway.
