Title: Laser inks
Post by: bob2299 on August 16, 2017, 10:12:50 AM
Has anyone tried any "laser inks"?  These are painted onto metal or glass or plastic (I am interested in acrylics) and then the laser beam apparently melts and cures leaving the inked image behind.  Surplus non-acrtivated ink is washed off with water or alcohol.  These inks are available in variety of colors and the lasers they talk about using are the 40W CO2 type.  I wonder if our 2.5 watt lasers will work?

I have also seen metal paste colors (gold, silver and copper) that can be applied to an engraved item, the paste sticks to the engraved area and the excess will wipe off the smooth unengraved part.
