Hi all. I use by Eleksmaker A3 to engrave leather goods.
I use linear mode, which seems to cause a slight burn at the extreme ends of each engraving. You can see in my photos, the left side of the letter M, and the right side of the letter i are both darker than the rest of the engraving.
I can eliminate this by using diagonal mode, but that causes my machine to vibrate and as such I lose definition.
Can anyone suggest how I can eliminate this fringe burning but keep linear mode?

This can happen if the acceleration is too low. The newer firmware also has a laser mode where the intensity is diminished when traveling at less than the specified speed.

On the Laser page - Settings->Advanced->Dynamic Laser Power
enable that option

My default acceleration is pretty high so that's unusual (if you are using my Grbl 1.1e of course), but using the dynamic laser power option should fix it.

Yes, I'm using your Grbl 1.1e.
I'll enable the dynamic laser power option and report back.
Thanks for the replies!
