Projects / Pistol box
« on: December 09, 2019, 05:25:08 PM »
I wanted to make a wood storage box for a pistol i got my girlfriend for Christmas. I purchased the box at Michaels and engraved her favorite sea creature in on the lid. I then used the laser to mark and start a cut on the foam i used on the inside. I was not able to cut all the way bit it gave me a good starting point. After I put Felt on the underside of the lid I engraved the Ruger logo. I finished it off by covering the pink foam with blue velvet.

« on: December 02, 2019, 06:59:56 PM »
Odd issue after an update to 1.5y in T2. When I try to engrave anything the Y axis shows the full number of steps but the carriage only goes for half the distance. the X axis has no issues has anyone else seen this?

Projects / Re: GoT scotch Glass
« on: January 13, 2019, 02:37:52 PM »
For that on i just painted the glass a a solid coat of the Apple Barrel black paint and dried it whit a blow drier. I used T2 laser at 1000 speed and .1 for res. With out the paint it would not work but it works a a resist to allow the laser to heat and engrave the glass. On this one i did two passes as i did not like the look after the first one.
