T2 Software Updates / Update rejected by Norton
« on: July 20, 2018, 07:51:38 PM »
Opened T2 and got a notice that an update was abailable.  Selected that but Norton rejected it and deleted the download.   As luck would have it my son, the software engineer, was visiting.  He clicked on a few more options and informed me that Norton was rejecting it because it contained the Heuristic virus.  Please advise.

T2 Engraving / How to zero out the machine
« on: July 01, 2018, 11:45:21 AM »
Green noob here.  Attempting to burn a grid and Trying to re zero X and Y after manually moving the laser to the desired point but can't figure it out.  And even if, by some technique that I stumbled on but can't repeat, I do get X and Y at 0.0 when I run it the X motor moves to the stop and that terrible click, click, click.  I guess my question is how to zero out to 0.0 after positioning the laser manually.

T2 Software Updates / update failed, now wont connect
« on: June 30, 2018, 07:32:11 AM »
Upon opening T2 this AM was notified of an update.  Proceeded to get it but when Norton issued a cautionary note I inadvertently hit the Remove option instead of the Proceed option.  Not only did that abort the update but it removed the program all together.  Ive reuploaded it but now it wont connect.  Im still a baby here so need a bit of assistance.

Assembly Help / Stepper motor plugs
« on: June 25, 2018, 09:10:14 AM »
Building the rotary device (thing #2348308 on thingiverse) for my A5 and acquired the motor (28BYJ-48) but the plug is slightly wider and the indicator tabs are different, hence it won't plug in to the motor.  Where can I find a plug that fits the stepper motor?

T2 Engraving / Reverse/mirror image text printing

Newbie here. After reading various reviews I decided to go with T2 and didn't bother with the limited trial, I just bought it.  Seems like small investment after what I'd paid for the A5 laser.  Watched and did the steps on the "So I've loaded T2, now what."  After getting my circle to be a circle I tried some simplementation text but it printed in correct in the mirror.  I didn't go past that as I was concerned with stabilizing wires.  Where do I go next to solve this?

Spare Parts Sources / connector plug
« on: June 02, 2018, 06:08:44 AM »
After receiving recommendation from Zax to get power for my fan addition from the laser, I'm looking at the 3 wire connector and thinking it would be easiest to get a new plastic connector and the female bits inside and build a new plug with 5 wires: 3 to the laser and 2 to the fan.  My question what are the plastic pieces and the female inserts called and where are they sourced?  Of course I'm assuming that the female inserts are removable like most plug connector assemblies are.

Assembly Help / Fan addition the A5

Ok, green noob here. Please be gentle, never mind...I'm tough give it to me!   Just got my question about pull down resistor jumper answered so now have another question.  I've printed the needed bits to add a fan/blower to the A5.  On my MANA SE board there is a 12v tap marked "motor".  Is there enough power from the board to drive my 12v, 0.08amp fancy do I need a separate power supply?

Assembly Help / Pull down resistor on mana SE board

I am not one to ask what probably is a silly/easy question without doing the searching. In part because it's rude and lazy but I also like to hide my ignorance when possible.  I can not find where to install the pull down resistor, to disable the momentary laser on condition, on my mana SE board.  I see photos showing it bridging across a TTL pin set but alas no such label exists on my board.  To reveal the full magnitude of  my ignorance I don't know what a TTL even is and after reading several paragraphs on TTL I'm no smarter.
