All right, thank you, it explains everything.

Yes, I am using default settings. I have such a result (as shown on your screenshot) only if I use the resolution of 0.05 but when I use 0.1 resolution it's similar to my previous screenshot. Still even with the resolution of 0.05 you can see some random pixels. I have marked them yellow.

I am importing a gerber file at 0.1 resolution. I get these artifacts as shown on the screenshot. These should be circles and I can see random pixels added on top. Also some random pixels are added on traces. When I change the resolution to 0.05 the situation improves, but still some random pixels can be seen. 0.05 is a lot better but it also increases engraving time. I don't think such an accuracy is necessary, because most chinese lasers running a gbrl have a focal point that is larger than that. But still, if I don't adjust the resolution, artifacts will be transfered to the part. Is there anything that can be done here? It may not be just a GBR file issue, I have noticed the same when using images like bmp or png. Thank you.

T2 Engraving / Re: Command to swap bits?

Thanks, but I was rather meaning Gcode that can be sent manually. Neither M06 nor M025 seem to work

T2 Engraving / Command to swap bits?

Hello, I am sure I have seen the command to change the tool inside T2laser, but I can't remember how to use it. Thanks.

T2 Engraving / Menu inactive after sending gcode
« on: May 05, 2020, 09:50:04 AM »
I have a weird issue - after my gcode has been sent and the ending command is M30. T2Laser menu becomes inactive - it keeps saying 'Sending' and the only button I can press is Emergency stop. Is this normal?

T2 Engraving / Bluetooth connection
« on: September 16, 2019, 10:18:00 AM »
I am going to connect Bluetooth HC-05 module to control my CNC, not laser. I need to configure the module via AT commands first to set up parity bits, even, uneven as well as stopbits. Do you have any idea which values should I choose for that? Should I be looking for grbl defaults?

T2 Engraving / Re: PCB engraving from SVG

yes, because it's a pcb. I plan to use laser to expose photosensitive film. This is why I need it fully filled. As far as I understand the best option now is to export it to PNG in a bigger size and then correct size manually in T2laser itself. Adding support of SVG would be so much appreciated.

I hope you can consider adding SVG support to T2laser

Hello Zax.

I would be very grateful if you could explain how can I engrave this file using T2 laser. Since there is no support of SVG, I assume it needs to be converted. I tried using inkscape, but I beleive there are some settings that I am missing.

Thanks a lot in advance.

T2 Engraving / Re: Turning T2 laser into CNC software
« on: January 06, 2019, 07:59:43 AM »
My experiments with T2 laser as Gcode sender for CNC engraver failed.

There are a lot of things that make the usage not convenient and sometimes dangerous.

First is that you always have to turn on CNC mode.

Second - gcode viewer doesn't work on 3d models.

T2 laser doesn't incorrectly sends Gcode generated by third party software - RhinoCam for example. But it works fine with built in samples.

The problem with 3rd party gcode - it can't detect z position correctly. For example, gcode tells to mill 1 mm. T2 laser lifts z axis  instead of lowering it.

I don't have Z probe or switch. Instead I am manually turning the knob

T2 Engraving / Turning T2 laser into CNC software

Hello Zax.

Thank you for what you are doing. I am enjoying using T2 laser for my laser cutter. But I have recently purchased small CNC machine and have several questions:

Do you have plans to add more features that will be usefull for CNC owners?

I also have a couple of other questions:

- In settings it's possible to select Z axis mode - laser focus or CNC. When I select CNC mode, settings are not saved when I quit T2 laser (focus mode is selected by default. Is it possible to fix it? Why it's possible to select both modes simaltaneously? Shouldn't it be just one mode selected at a time?

- Is it possible to improve resetting home position within a single button push? Correct me if I am wrong, but now you can't reset Z axis position.

- Maximum spindle speed can be set to 1000 only, whereas gbrl 1.1 allows to set RPM, so the value can be greater than 1000. Is it possible to fix it?

- Laser mode is enabled by default and needs to be changed each time control window is opened. Can it be fixed?

T2 Engraving / Re: Newbie questions

Not to post in a separate topic. I have a couple of questions about T2 laser:

Absolute DXF Colors
The increments are 20% and it's possible to use custom one. What if I need 5 percent? Are there gonna be more colors? E.g. I need some parts to be cut so I set up lines in DXF to Red which are 80 percent of laser power. But I need some parts to be engraved, so I need 25 percent of laser power. E.g. works fine if I select 230 laser power to cut and 70 to engrave. Should I change the ratio like entering 330 as max laser power? How else to configure?

I need this option as I can't chnage feed rate at the moment - my CNC doesn't like it.

What I would like to achieve is to cut the window in this wall, but engrave lines. Also what could be the problem - one of the lines below the window is not drawn at all. It doesn't look like a hardware issue - mechanics of CNC is working fine. G code has this line, but CNC refuses to draw it.

After some minutes spent trying to figure out what was the problem, I finally solved it by typing COM4 manually instead of using dropdown list
