Sorry for this "beginner-question", but is it correct, that I have to flash the firmware with the GRLB by using arduinio IDE, or is there a other way?

Dears,

yesterday I made my first try (one year after  I bought it ;-)

It seems that the speed settings have not a big influence in the speed the laser does - it is very slow.
Is there somewhere a setting which limits the speed to a other value than in T2 is indicated?

Yes you are right - this is a possibility. But e.g. for the rabbits I have the problem that I'm milling more than one.. And the mill is much bigger than the laser.. So I will do it in Zax's way and will laser the outline (like a jig) an put it on there.. It will be the easiest way..

aaaah I found the difference.
I made a template in draftsight with layers in different colours.
When I open your file you are working on one layer and use different colours..

It's not the best solution, I have to fix the jig or material, write two programs one with and one without outline and so on..

Dear Zax,

I tried this with the colours with DraftSight. When I open it with T2 the colours will not be shown. Is this correct? I opend with incscape and the colours where  there - so no problem with the file.

Hello again,

the zero point in CAD (DraftSight in my case) doesn't solve the problem.

The problem is, that I need a zero-point directly on the geometry.

I mill out the rabbit on CNC mill (due to thickness of material it is much faster). Than I put it on the laser and need a zero point which I can find easy - in this kind the sharp edge (red dot). If I would use global zero it wouldn't work because half of the rabbit would be out of the working frame, right?!

Dears,

I've a question accoring zero of sketch.

Is there a possibility to put the zero point in the middle of the sketch area?
Background:
If I mill the outline of something, lets say a rabbit and I want to engrave the eyes, nose and so on with the laser I need a defined point on the rabbit.
When the zero point is in the corner, I would also need the point of the rabbit in the lower left corner - but due to the shape of the rabbit, there couldn't be any point of it.
Hope someone could understand what I mean?!

I've the same "problem", but playing around with "speed" and "power" seems to solve it.
I tried to make thin lines and it worked - speed 5000, power 220 with a 2,5W laser

first, thanks a lot for your efforts!

In most cases there is no need for a 100% correct alignment of a picture in the dxf.
I mean, for me it would be enough to align it freehand without dimension just by eye.

Ok, you are right, zero in draftsight should be possible (normally not important for 2d CAD).

Combine a dxf and a picture would be useful because you could engrave a picture and cut it out according dxf.
Now you have to engrave the picture and make a second run to cut it out.

Sorry again for my questions - as I told I'm new in lasers
