T2 Software Updates / Canvas outline preview
« on: January 30, 2020, 11:09:35 PM »
I use the work area preview a lot, where you right-click on the laser button, and the laser will travel the rectangle of the work area -
however it only moves at the set speed that the burn will take place, and this can often times be very slow and less useful when trying to judge where your work area will take place,
Is there any option to set a separate speed for the laser preview?

looks like you were dead on!, found the white white about 98% broken at one of the connectors,
soldering it back together and it looks likes it going to be ok

Trouble Shooting / motor judders in one spot
« on: September 30, 2017, 10:05:09 PM »
I havn't used my machine in a while, i usually dont during the summer because i need to have my window open for exhaust.
so i went to use it today and while tracing my workspace going up the left side, and then beginning to go right, it goes about halfway and the motor like judders, or rapidly goes back and forth, just in the one spot.

when i manually toggle the laser around it only does it sometimes, but always when going horizontally around that location.

nothing is binding, if you move the laser by hand it is smooth, belts are ok.
it almost seems like a programming issue -(the software did update on startup)

what should i do?

heres some videos

oh ok, thanks

I have another question,
i got the reply email for this thread on my phone, i clicked the link and it opens but it says

"Sorry QuietMike, you are banned from using this forum!
Can't stay on topic

this ban is not set to expire."

however, it seems to be fine on my desktop (as i am writing now)

why would I be banned?

Projects / Multi piece large clock

I had a bunch of these "squares" (they are not square or even exactly the same size )lying around, but I wanted to try and make a multi piece project and glue it together because I haven't done that yet. Surprisingly it turned out well I'm sure when I actually have square pieces that fit more perfectly together next time it will be even better.

T2 Engraving / Re: getting weird lines after importing dxf to T2

what seemed to fix it is using the 'flatten beizers' in inkscape after tracing and before applying any other extensions.

ok i cant attach the dxf, because it is 9mb, but in the t2 screenshot you can see how the dxf is all weird, like its a cheap sketch with out of alignment lines,
the dxf is perfect and sharp, and if i burn what t2 has it looks like the image

after importing an inkscape dxf into T2, it shows up all weird, sort of scrambled with extra lines, why is this?
ive attached the dxf, and a screenshot of what it looks like when in T2

Got the eggbot extension to work, very cool,
Is there a way to have it automatically fill everything at once?, I was selecting the paths manually

Eggbot plug-in is an inkscape extension that enable you to create hatched fills as seen in the text of above picture. Rather than doing a raster on text to fill them in, you make a series of vector lines to achieve the effect. The plugin allow you to create these from within inkscape. See:

oh i see, that's cool, I'm going to try that

you'll have to make a how to, because i can't quite figure out how to use it, i have like a circle, and i go to Path Effects, and add Hatches, but it shows a sloppy wavy (like an A/C wave) line that goes up and down a couple times in my circle, and then there's a whole bunch of numbers that i can adjust, but they don't seem to do anything
