General Discussion / Re: Longer legs
« on: December 30, 2018, 01:00:09 PM »
Thanks. What I was thinking about is just replacing the acrylic parts with some angle iron. Do you know what the Max focus distance is the for the lasers? I want something I can just bolt in and not have it move. I have to move the laser box quite often due to it being in my living room right now till i get a new shop built.

I am thinking about building longer legs for my unit to allow it to use the rotary I had printed  and then go back to normal use with out having to move the unit each time. I have it mounted in side of a box i built to hold everything and bolted down whit l brackets right now. Is that any issue whit the framing being further away from the project for normal engraving use? Here is my current set up.

New board showed up today and I am still seeing the issue on bi directional but it looks good on single. I am going to do a test mirror on that setting to see how it turns out and if it looks good i will do the present ones. Then I can work more on getting the bi directional working right. I will do two passes at 850 ans see how it turns out.

I think I got the carriage set up right now but unfortunately when I went to test I got a power surge and now I have burnt traces on the control board and the motors wont work. I have a EleksMana SE on order but it has not shown up yet.

I ran the nested lines image that was in a different thread and had a wiggle in both normal and no bi directional mode. I have new belt holders that a friend printed for me i am going to put on and see if I can get the belt fixed and the then work on the wheels.

I am planing on doing backlit engraved mirrors for my nieces for Christmas and since my new 2.5w module showed up I started testing to check the settings I would need based on what I have read on here. I ran the image at Speed:1500 Power:255 in T2 laser. I only did one pass and when  pulled the mirror out of my encloser i could see were it had engraved the back of the mirror but not in both layers. Do i need to go slower or do multiable passes?

LaserGrbl / Swaping Y axis
« on: November 25, 2018, 08:59:27 PM »
I have tried to use this program with my Engraver and the Y access is set the wrong way for me. Is there any way in the program to swap the y axis? I know I can in T2  and in Elekcam . I have not tried any other software yet.
