never tried but if you used a not clear or not red one.  like black or green it should work just fine.

looks like it rounds the diameter to .1mm so if you put in 62.12 it will round to 62.1 and calculate from there.  It probably wont matter much.  it takes a shift of about .1mm to change the steps per mm the motors make.  the resolution is only 1.8 degrees.

lol I only tell you about my successes.  I hide my failures or shame in a box under my desk.  Dark slate works best.  Light slate doesnt do much.

its a setting in the software to reverse the x axis but not knowing what software you are using limits our advice.

well i see one problem.  You are running 1.1f.  All of those firmwares are custom.  You probably want to be running 1.1e  take a look at the picture I uploaded and try that.

FYI Tim and I were talking on facebook today.  I had him remove his steppers from the machine to ensure belt and mechanical issues were not a factor.  We also tried playing musical stepper wires to rule out a bad wire. Tried reinstalling grbl 1.1e. I showed him how to set his stepper drivers voltage.  It was .61 for both out of the box so I had him turn up the y just a tad to see if it changed anything... it didnt.  He sent me a picture of a close up of his mosfet and the pcb looks all bubbled like it over heated and damaged the board.  Also his low power button never worked (ie never did a thing when pushed) out of the box which I find weird.  Also no jumper under the nano.  I think he may have just got a bum board.  Cant think of anything else for him to check.  Unless its just some board that isnt an eleksclone and needs special firmware... but it looks like an L7 clone to me.

Hi Tim!!

I see you found the good tech support!  So to do what ggallant was talking about you click the tiny check box in the bottom right corner in t2.  Then if you type $$ you get the grbl parameters.  Or you can type manual gcode commands.

could be a couple things.  Your laser diode could have failed (some last minutes others last years), your power supply could have failed (same story), or you could just have the power setting accidentally set too low.  If you jump back and forth between softwares sometimes you will end up with 1000 being the top power setting but you are using 255.  the top power setting is just setting in the firmware and just tells the controller what percentage of full power to use.

pla should be fine depending on how hot the area you are using it gets.  I use mine in a garage with no ac in california.  Temprature was an issue for me so mine is in petg and abs.  If your laser room doesnt get super hot like a car in the sun then pla should be fine.

yeah you probably need to download the latest version.  We are up to 1.5f!  I dont remember exactly when he added the advanced hatch options but it wasnt always a part of the software.  You can continue to use the trial even with the latest version.  just download it from zax signature or from the updates section of this forum.

You are also the root cause of much of my compulsive obsessive socially deviant laser etching behavior.
Don't forget Loki. He is the one that started this whole glass fad.

could also be a break in the line.  When it gets at the just the right angle it disconnects.  Breaks usually happen right near the plug.  So be sure to check there.
