A greeting, is the 1st time I consult them problem this fantastic forum, I have problems with Div Violet Laser Engraver 5500vW, when installed with the Benbox program the laser worked well, the laser itself that was going on, the but the recording laser barely moved, did not respond well drawing designed was a burned clean slate, but suddenly the laser does not turn on and the engines always go right without stopping and when they stop still activated, but the laser module should work well because if I connect to the 12-volt socket if going on with all its power, I ask advice, but I think it is as if the circuit module connections it is damaged.
I pray that I do advise me, thanks

Welcome to the forum. There are a number of members who had similar problems. The experts will be able to offer better advice but for starters:

   1. Which controller module do you have
   2. Have you adjusted the stepper motor drive currents
   3. Which firmware
   4. Which host software
   5. Are the belts tensioned correctly
   6. Did you oil the wheel bearings

It sounds like the MOSFET on your control board may have died. No option but to fix or replace the board, good news, easy and cheap.

I find CPU driving MOSFET's iffy to begin with. If your controller is an Eleks L6, you have the worst of the worst. If it does turn on it often doesn't turn off when hot and it gets HOT.

E opted to buy the card board control with a total cost of transport taxes and 32 €, of www.banggood.com, I hope it is resolved, my question is whether this controller card shall serve for different laser powers like mine of 5500 vw pictures and features I think are the same, thank you for your interest.

Jose,

I have posted reversed engineered schematics of the L7 controller else where on this site. Attached is a copy. I replaced my L7 with and L6 as I was experiencing similar problems. The L6 is pure junk. Without explanation, the L7 started to work again. Others on this forum have suggested scrubbing the board with an alcohol solvent to remove any residue solder flux.

If you do replace the MOSFET cut the 2 legs first and the desolder.

Do you have an oscilloscope to examine signals?

Ggallant571 greetings, sorry not understand a word I'm from Spain, that you mean whether to replace the cut MOSFET 2 legs first and desolder.
On the oscilloscope I have, apart'm not a professional in electronics, only I reach tester measurements and do some fine welds, thanks for your interest.

Jose,

My Spanish is much worse than your English. When replacing an IC it is often easier to cut the leads from the body and remove the parts one by one. Less damage to the board.

*********************************************************************
I see that I am not the only Spanish with problems.
It would be interesting to open a thread in Spanish, it is only a suggestion
I got the Benbox to work for a couple of hours until I started to get the message Alarm Clock and after restarting the laser and the pc several times, started to jog and here I got stuck.

I do not know if it's the arduino driver or what's going on
Anyway thank you for a forum that addressed this issue.
Thanks
