This might be a dumb question. What does the blower do to help the engraver? Another dumb question why do people use blowers and not vacuums?

It does a couple notable things.  It prevents scorching of the surrounding area by the smoke, removes ash making for a more consistent cut/burn, and reduces the chances of fires. 

I imagine you dont want to suck any of the fumes up toward your laser because it could damage the lenses.

Did you intentionally turn the laser gantry upside-down?

Lasers are wonderful machines..not ONLY  can they cut a finger off BUT  they can also cauterise it at the same time.....

SAFETY -  IS NO ACCIDENT

yes i did it intentionaly because my X Axisw was not working fine i feel i have more controll this way to bend the bell if i need and it is running very fine now.
Also i have bit more space under the Gantry

Was your X-axis not drawing straight lines?

Looks like a tempting solution for my problem of wobbled lines.
