Best settings for 2.5W laser engraver?
« on: November 25, 2016, 10:55:54 PM »
Hello everyone!

I am new to the world of laser engraving. I own a banggood 2.5 W laser engraver. I was just curious what everyone has found to be the best speed and time settings for their projects.

I have found that for leather taken from a cheap old leather coat, I use a speed of 1100 and a time of 5. This works best for thin lines. However anything else becomes extremely sooty.

It would be extremely helpful to know what settings everyone else uses for any materials. Thank you!

I could be wrong but from memory, the Time value has no effect unless you're using Discrete mode.

I have found that I prefer to use the discrete setting. It seems to make cleaner burns.
