random reindeers
« on: December 21, 2016, 01:21:21 AM »
So I've made some peeping reindeers and been placing them around work in the lead up to XMAS.

Don't think they've worked out who it is yet.

Really nice job. Could you post the original work file? What material? What settings?

I've attached the 2xsvg files, I created in inkscape.
In page properties, i select A5 size, and white background.
Then when you export as png, make sure you have page selected, not selection, drawing, etc. and change dpi to 100pix/cm or 254dpi.

I've cut it onto 210GSM black card stock, at speed = 600, using carvemode = outline, continuous, laser.

Specifically, this is what I'm using bought  from Officeworks here in Australia.
http://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/quill-xl-multiboard-210gsm-a5-black-50-pack-qu90701

Then just using blutack to hold them on the wall.

I have previosuly used vinyl book covering (contact) and you can set it to cut the vinyl but not the backing paper, but i can't remember my settings.

I cut the red noses from red textured foil paper, and changed the speed to 1000. Then glued the noses on.

Thanks. I have smaller and larger card stock plus some 1mm black abs which cuts real nice.

Wasn't really my artwork originally. I found some on Pinterest that I could modify.
