T2Laser will handle the no units and older format issues, as I showed it imported correctly just not what he wanted.

I verified with multiple other programs including AutoCAD's own viewer, TurboCAD and Inkscape and the result is the same.

Yeah, I was sure T2 did...for clarity, BCL is using a DXF Library and that's why I'm more restrictive on the missing Units and .dxf files older than 16 years.

If you want to do images, raster an image. If you want to do outlines or logo type designs use vector.

Pick the right tool for the job.

ok so yes i think a little bit of youtubing will help.  also your a bit confused on some things.  When you do trace bitmap you made it a vector.  However in inkscape it shows it with a fill.  The fill will not be engraved if you try to make it as a dxf file.  Sooooo turn off the fill and set it to a path.  That will show you what would be engraved in vector format.   which is what zax showed you the file looks like.  The file i uploaded is what happens when you do a vector fill.  I used the eggbot extension for the vector hatch fill.   if you just want it completely filled in like the picture just import  it into t2.  it can read jpg.  however this will take longer to engrave

ok my issue was inkscape erroring when i tried to save as dxf but i got it now so it must have been something in my procedure that was wrong

i am trying to use this file so i can cut a cardboard. when i import to t2 dimension is wrong.i exported the file using mm and tried all advanced settings in t2laser. i need 205 x185 mm size. t2 makes a 205x127 mm file.

When I load this file into inkscape it is 205x127. You will need to adjust the size in what ever program you are creating it with.

Same with TurboCAD so I would say that's a problem with Inkscape export and not T2Laser.

Matches, here is the video I watched on how to convert images to vector.
https://youtu.be/WDvmyS7Kg5Y

Sorry about not linking it. I am doing this on my phone.

I used that and Zax's how to with Inkscape and it worked great!

here is your file in the proper size (185x205).  Be sure you turn dxf optimizer and relocate origin on in t2.

here are some tricks. Select all.  Go to the object drop down and select fill and stroke.  Turn stroke to .1 mm which is the same as your laser width. Then go to the tool bar and locate where it says X: Y: W: H: .  Change W: to your width in mm and H: to your height in mm.  Click the padlock if you want to lock the aspect ratio.  Change X: to zero and Y: to zero which is also on the tool bar.  Then save as dxf.  unselect both the robo line and poly line when saving.
