The easiest way to test the laser is to plug it in the 12V/Fan port, if the fan comes on but not the laser then the diode is toast. It's not likely but of course there's always exceptions.

If you've been using the "weak" button too long then the board may have failed (likely the MOSFET) and the laser is ok.

Fan comes on and that is all and I have been using the weak button and may have left it on a couple times, now I need to figure out where to replace it. I only had this thing for a day and already tore it up. Bought it off a guy who didn't like the program, and only tested it.

Bad design of the Eleks.. Whats cheaper the L7 or a new laser?
*A3 Laser 2500mW
*T2Laser Licensed software*
*Modified 2.5Watt laser module*
*Running Agastar Linear Pwm laser board*
*Co2 Laser 40W, DSP-X7, Air nozzle, Autofocus, Stepper controlled Z-table*

The "weak" button is a good idea (to allow focusing) but a very poor implementation which self destructs.

If the fan is working you know the laser module is getting power, which means the diode or more likely the driver circuit is dead - either way, the seller should offer some "fix". I would ask for a discount on the TTL laser module.

The L7 is cheaper but a good laser with TTL driver is the best solution for multiple reasons.

I recommend the 2000mW TTL laser that Banggood sells, but now they have several more options which I haven't tried.

I don't understand, they all have TTL inputs?
