3mm corregated cardboard with 2500mW
« on: January 12, 2017, 01:15:19 PM »
Hi,

Has anyone tried cutting 3mm corregated cardboard with a 2500mW laser? Not got mine yet to try but would really like to be able to!

I thought I replied last night after trying to cut 3mm cardboard. Not so simple as the cardboard:

1. Easily catches fire
2. Inner baffles are at an angle and reflect the beam
3. Need focus and power to cut the bottom layer without igniting the upper.

I ended up doing low power (forget how low) and doing 4 passes. Took longer than cutting the same pattern in 3mm plywood.
