DXF Curves importing as straight lines
« on: January 27, 2017, 09:23:08 AM »
I have a file that was constructed in Fusion 360 and exported to DXF:

When I import it into T2Laser, the curves are converted to flats:

This is clearly a version/format/spline/polyline type of problem.  The DXF import plugin for irfanview also shows flats:

But QCAD shows curves:

Fusion 360 doesn't have options for DXF exports.  I've tried using Illustrator and QCAD to change the version to R15 (and almost all others,) but the resulting files still have no curves in irfan or T2Laser.

Any suggestions about how to overcome this?

Whoops, sorry, meant to do that initially.  :o  Got all caught up in putting the photos in.

If they are exploded (converted to arcs) it works fine but they are part of a complex polyline that isn't currently supported.

I am working on a fix.

What's your preferred DXF editing tool?

Sweet!  I found the Explode command in QCAD and successfully brought the curved DXF into T2Laser.

Thanks, a fix would be great, but this workaround is a huge help!

I use TurboCAD but only because I've used it for many years.

I'm 99% sure I will have a fix in the next release but have to test it with all the DXF versions to make sure I don't break something else.
