ESTLCAM (free version)
« on: April 01, 2017, 05:00:31 PM »
Digging for free software I found this beauty:

http://estlcam.de/

It supports GRBL output, Arduino controllers and so far I'm quite impressed with its functionality. Has anyone else here had a play with it already? Couldn't find it using the forum search.

And yes, it can be configured to English  ;)

Cheers,
Rainer

This was one of the many CAM software apps I looked at during my research phase about 14 months ago. Like all the other developers of CAM programs I contacted, he wasn't interested in modifying his software to work with our low power laser machines.

This was needed due to the low laser power having the need to be dynamic on the speed depending on the grain of the wood. Without this, your laser burns will not be even.

As a result of me not being able to find an existing CAM program that would support our laser machines, I had no choice but to write my own. Thus, BenCutLaser (BCL) was born.

T2 Laser also has this wood grain compensation capability. We are the only two CAM software programs that have this and thus, we nicely support our low power machines!

His program was written for classic CNC operations and not for lasers. If you can get it to work, I wish you all the best with it. Enjoy!

I use that software quite a bit, but it is not free. I has a free trial that in time will start taking longer and longer to write files.
Laser: was an A3 2.0w TTL L6 Z axis now 2'x3'

Is there an English version of the software and is there a translation button for the web site. I am considering getting a 3 axis CNC an looking for other software. I checked out Mach3, putting that on hold for now, because I an\m in the discovery mode for now!

This web page is in English for me http://www.estlcam.com/
and after the software is installed the first thing on the setup page is language.
