30mm laser fan
« on: May 12, 2017, 11:33:10 AM »
My fan arrived dead so I do not know how much air the original moved or how noisy it was, I fitted  a 40mm fan between pcb and laser held on by just one corner screw as that was all I had handy, it was quiet .. that was while I waited for this guy to arrive which I fitted yesterday.
I searched aliexpress for quite some time to find a quality dual ball bearing fan at a half decent price and without going quantity of 5 this was the cheapest I could find.
I measured the current and despite its marking in free air at 12V it draws 90mA. This thing moves a surprising amount of air.

I did a quick 10 second video of it spooling up and down to show how noisy it is though..
