wood grain compensation in T2Laser
«

I have read here and on the eleks forum that T2Laser does wood grain compensation. I am at work so cant look it up on the manual.
I was wondering how this works and if it is compatible with our 'banggood' lasers? Do we need extra hardware for this to work?
I find it a very interesting idea..
=)

See the picture below. This is where you set the laser compensation.
Details:
- Laser Power: if checked will adjust the laser power instead of the speed of the laser for cutting
-Swap XY: the default assumes the grain is going left to right on the engraver. if selected, it will view as going top to bottom
-20: This is your % of adjustment for the speed (and power I am assuming if Laser Power is selected). You can adjust this to what you need
Not shown in the picture. Make sure there is a check by the Vector Adjustment to enable this option.

Should I be worried that you explain the feature better than I could?
The feed rate or laser power is adjusted proportional to the angle so at 90 degrees (perpendicular) you would get the full effect and at 45 degrees you would get half the change. Attached image shows this as it follows a circular path.

Between you and Nottingham, I have learned a LOT!
Also, you are too close to the product. Others can explain it in simple terms, is oh have all of the background knowledge of it

I think I understand, I will have to re-read to make sure I understand...
thank you very much for the explanation, this assumes a continuous grain, not like some bamboo cutting boards with dark /light sections of grain..
