Matrix Copy / Step & Repeats

This feature request has made it to the top of my list, so I am looking for some inputs.

It will be for vector only, but I don't know if it would only be necessary for Sketch or also for CAD import. The reason I wouldn't expect it to be necessary for CAD import is it would be much easier to apply the repeats before exporting.

If I understand the need, the very next request you will get once you implement step and repeat is to nest the patterns so the optimum use is made of material. Nesting is, I believe a bit difficult.

It is, I have no plans to implement nesting.

I think the matrix copy or step and repeat would be for Sketch, so you could draw a 20 mm circle and specify 5 by 2 with 2 mm gap/spacing and get 10 circles in a 108 by 42 mm area.

I'm just not sure why you would want to use it for DXF as that is best done in your CAD program where nesting or other optimization is possible.

Any other inputs before I go ahead and write the code for Sketch and call that feature complete?

While testing this feature I came up with an unexpected use.

Matrix Copy can be used to make patterns!

It's really cool with the EggBot but could probably be used for other things too.
