motor judders in one spot
« on: September 30, 2017, 10:05:09 PM »
I havn't used my machine in a while, i usually dont during the summer because i need to have my window open for exhaust.
so i went to use it today and while tracing my workspace going up the left side, and then beginning to go right, it goes about halfway and the motor like judders, or rapidly goes back and forth, just in the one spot.

when i manually toggle the laser around it only does it sometimes, but always when going horizontally around that location.

nothing is binding, if you move the laser by hand it is smooth, belts are ok.
it almost seems like a programming issue -(the software did update on startup)

what should i do?

I had something like that happen.  It turned out to be a broken wire.  Normally it would be fine but if it got to just the right angle, it would lose a bit of connection and stutter.  Try swapping your wire with one of the other and jog it back and forth across that spot.

looks like you were dead on!, found the white white about 98% broken at one of the connectors,
soldering it back together and it looks likes it going to be ok

thanks

FYI start looking for a replacement and if you replace one if its the the y replace both.  Clearly that is a stress point.  After the 3rd time resoldering it I replaced mine.  The one I got from amazon made the motor go the opposite direction as the stock one.  So I had to replace both.
