The first one did not go well. I ended up finding some screws loose.

mine came out fine.  I think I want it bigger and maybe another step per mm but otherwise came out great on the first try.  500 mm/min speed and full power with black primer spray paint.

1. Was this etched with the rotary attachment?
2. Paint on inside or outside of glass?
3. Paint removal method?

I had the opposite problem today.  My screws were too tight and I broke the post  that connects the chuck to the stepper.   I glued it but I need to print a new one now.

I just started printing the fixture. What plastics did you make yours with? So many addictions, so little time!!

There is a craft fair Nov 4th at the local Veterans house. I have downloaded logos for Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force & Coast Guard. Currently scaling to fit the slate coaster.

I used PLA. As mine has not broke (like someone we know...... ;)), I will suggest PLA.

I used around 30-50% infill depending on the parts (whether load bearing or not)

I have PLA & ABS. I tend to ignore anything by anyone with promoting laser etching slate. We all know that is pure fiction. Where is that Michaels order???

Why do I always feel miserable after looking at your success??? My wife saw some earlier glass postings and bought me a case of wine glasses, some simple vases, and canning jars. She parked them on my etching raw materials shelf and keeps asking about my forward progress on the rotary tool.

Very impressive, especially considering these lasers "won't engrave glass"  ;D
