I'm not sure you will see much if any difference, air assist and a raised surface would be more beneficial (of course you may already have both of those and be looking for "more").

You don't need a Z axis to cut 1-3mm material.

yes this makes sense i am thinking for doing the opostite way building a Z layer on the 30x40 like a heatbed on a printer ...must be possible with 2 Motors an a 8mm Screw....if a put longer 2040 Profiles letīs say 50cm i can
build a plattform of 45x30 to come up ..

Yes, that is very possible...I converted my 3D printer to a robust Z axis laser machine...using a 1.6 watt laser head, I was able to cut 3/8 thick wood. However, the success of that I consider to be a laboratory success only...it wouldn't work in the real world because of the number of passes to cut 3/8 thick wood is not practical.

Sorry putting this question do i have any upgrade getting now a 3500 ttl laser against my 2500mw 2 wire Version
for cutting? Or does it makes more sense getting a 500mw or 2000mw ttl adding it on my 3d printer just for engraving on leather?

Thx Moritz

If you are looking to cut a lot, I suggest you look at a 1.6w. It has a nice tight beam

A 2.5 watt works well for engraving. It can cut (mine does) very well as well as engrave. It is pretty much the best average power laser you can get. I did have some trouble engraving small lettering on slate as the 2.5w beam was too big and kept bleeding over and making the lettering fuzzy. I have an older 2w that worked perfectly (probably more like a 1.6w without the ability to cut)

When using a z-axis it is important to maintain a good vertical orientation. Any tilt will move the focus point creating a wider cut path.

I have bought several modules from Aliexpress using the vendor Novel Life. Bing has always been very helpful.
