CNC Kitchen live stream
« on: October 28, 2017, 12:53:09 PM »
CNC Kitchen did a live stream of setting up the eleksmaker and running it this morning.  I gave him some help.  I almost forgot to have him change his windows regional settings.  Man if he had failed that could have been bad for our community I think.  We got him going and burning things which I think is good for our community.  It was an accurate build.  It showed the problems that many new people run into and we got him fixed in minutes instead of the hours many of us had to dedicate to the problems.  Check it out if you get a chance. or if you need to build a new machine.

Nice of you to have helped.  And it is good to have detailed build video, it is sad that users had to create it, rather than the creators of the product.

[soapbox]It would have been better for the diy low power laser community for the failure to be live streamed.  Embarrassing public failure is what companies need to correct the mistakes they have put on users.

As for what is bad for the diy low power laser community:

It is companies that continue to push faulty products on consumer;
It is companies that ignore users input about easily corrected issues;
It is companies that demonstrate little to no regard for users.
It is companies that blame users for software/hardware mistakes.

How many posts have you read about steppers that will not move?
How many posts have you read about laser being full blast?

Companies that ignore common problems is what harms a community of users. [/soapbox]

Having a company go completely under by failed builds and humiliation doesnt help anyone.  Having a fair accurate video that shows common problems and how to fix them showcases the flaws and lets people make informed decisions on if that is something they want to deal with.  There is not a bunch of competitors waiting to scoop up the market losses if eleksmaker goes under.  Some have tried and most fail due to worse hardward design or not turning a profit.  Some better competition is really what is needed to spur forward design.  That is what is driving the 3d printer market right now.  And they are making changes.  Not to the software because software doesnt make them money.  They are content to let BCL and T2 be the best methods.  The next generation of lasers will not have the full blast issue and they have redesigned the hole patter for the x axis.  some other changes are listed on their website that they are working on.

Their current changes and future changes listed are:

Stop production EleksLaser A5 Pro 丨11/1/2017

Stop production EleksDraw Pro 丨11/1/2017

Modify EleksLaser A3 Pro 丨10/20/2017

● Modify hole position丨Easy to adjust the wheel spacing

● Remove the 2028 corner丨Simplify installation steps

● Add Rubber foot丨Make the machine more stable

Modify EleksDraw 丨10/20/2017

● Modify the pen down structure丨Simplify installation steps

Modify EleksMill 丨10/20/2017

● Modify the T8 Nut丨Simplify installation steps

Good video, but what's with that software  ;D

EleksMaker machines do have their faults (we've figured out solutions to most of them) but they are the best value option right now and continue to lead development while others copy their designs (with even more problems).
