T2 can load pdfs.

Upload your dxf so Ralph can inspect it to see the issue.

additionally you can review my dxf video for inkscape.... I dont use bcl but my settings might work for you. I skipped it ahead to the saving part.

Using any CAD program, load your DXF file into it and then do a save as and use a newer format. BCL cannot load DXF files formatted from the year 2000 format and older.

As the attachment shows, use R27 for example.

As this attachment shows, you can use R18 or newer. When I said R27 it was just an example. If your CAD program doesn't support R27 use Release 18 or newer.

As an FYI there ARE bugs in Inkscape and CorelDraw when they try to convert a format into a DXF format. I know you can't always create your own dxf files in a CAD program, but just be aware those programs are buggy when converting. There are A LOT of different dxf formats as its been around a very long time...all dxf files are not created the same.

My Art Cam program can save as DXF but when loading in I got these errors

and then a garbled image

original in Art Cam

Note I tried looking for other DXF files but there are none ...would it not be easier to let Ben cut load PDF's

I cut 3mm wood all the time with it. It's not my software and I don't make any money from it. So i may make a video on that topic if I feel like it if I ever find my GoPro.

Both of those dialogs are warnings only.

The first one is telling you that much of your drawing objects are in negative space. You can see the tan square in BCL which is your work area. Therefore, as your dxf file stands, you would not be able to laser these parts. The solution is to move ALL of your drawing objects into positive space. You do this using a CAD program. Then BCL won't give you that warning. If you don't understand why you have to do this, please let me know.

The second warning is telling you some of your drawing is using a Polyine object that BCL doesn't support. BCL supports Polylines so most likely your dxf file is corrupted. Please post your dxf file here so I can have a look at it.

To answer your question as to why BCL doesn't support PDF files: PDF files are not drawing files. DXF files are drawing files. nottingham82 has already written a PDF->DXF converter. Have you used that to do your converting? T2 simply calls nottingham82's converter program to do the conversion. I have chosen not to go that route and instead rely on you to manually do the conversion.

You need a good setup software is only a small part. You need a perfect focus, air assist, and multiple passes. 6-9 for me at just the right speed. Once you get it dialed you can cut.

Dont blame me Ralph! I think that program was written by agastar. I take no credit for any software.  I'm a hardware guy.

Right...sorry about that. Agastars pdf converter works perfectly fine. I've used it myself.

Please post your dxf file here so I can have a look at it.

here itis again ...there is NOTHING wrong with any of my / our  software.
We all use it ....
its Bencut that needs to cater to other software.
Imagine if you loaded in something from any thing into MICROSOFT WINDOWS and you had to keep changing it ...
no matter what DXF file I / we have it loads into OTHER software packages fine ...there is nothing wrong with them its
BEN CUT that needs to adopt this configuration  not us saving this ..converting that  that's so wrong..
At the moment we all trade swop and use pdf... dxf files and they all work fine ...ben cut needs to be the same

Gary

Right...sorry about that. Agastars pdf converter works perfectly fine. I've used it myself.

So does every one else's off the internet including 99% of Cad programs inc my 170 Art cam they save to dxf just fine and we load in each others pdf's / DXF files no problem.... here is two attached
