A3 vs K40
« on: February 06, 2018, 01:48:32 PM »
I'm curious about the A3 with 2.5 watt vs the K40. Except for being more powerful and being able to cut thicker material faster and engraving faster, does the K40 do much else? Will our little ones ultimately do almost the same things?

It depends  on the material you work with. A K40 will etch ceramic tiles and clear acrylic where the diode laser will do nothing. Other things having more power means you can work faster. It really depends on what you are trying to do. Ideal is to have both.

No - I am down to only 1 CNC after taking the second one apart for parts.

But on the serious side - one need's do decide what they want to make and then choose the proper tools for the job. And sometimes it takes more then one tool to fill the needs.

They are bullet calibers, each has their purpose. It depends what you want to do.

Here I was thinking an A3 is equivalent to a 17 caliber.

Depends on your laser wattage.
I think the 2.5w is closer to 9mm
Laser: A3 2500mw with L7 Board / A3 2500mw PWM with Mana SE -- All using T2Laser
3D Printer: Monoprice Maker Select v2.1

No, 0.9 mm in front of wet black powder.   ;)
