Resin printer
« on: January 27, 2019, 04:19:51 PM »
Hello all , long time  no see or out from here.

Is anyone using UV resin printer, I just win an auction on ebay
and would like to know more about the subtlety of this method

My printer is the Anycubic LCD photon and I will share more about
it when it will arrive

Have a nice evening

Hello Stonemull,

Sorry for the delay.... busy, busy

Should be here today I will let you know my feedback about this little printer,
it comes with 250ml of resin and I order 2 others brand of 500ml resin

My gaol is to try to draw some parts for my plastic models (1/700 and 1/350 ship)
also I will try to experiment with resin and micro ball filler and try to make the
resin lighter.... like 25 micro ball /75 resin on 100, the problem is not to make it
too thick, it has to stay relatively liquid and with the microball it those make more
thick if too much microball

Thanks for the link, perfect explanation to how make a small DIY 3D printer, my
Anycubic seem to be the perfect printer to explore this new field to me... other
than my FDM printer

Have a nice weekend

Oupss  sorry, I was fully busy, here it is... I receive my Anycubic photon
around last week, I have made only one print with it...  and it turns to
be very... very very nice, more than expected, I am sure I have just
touched the surface.... 0.025 microns in Z and 0.047 in X-Y it's insane
for the resolution.

Now the really most challenging part will be to draw something which
uses all the potential of this machine.

The little box on top is the finishing curing light box, it is a toy for
children, it is called 3D magic maker and it is sold with some little
bottle ( tube ) of thick resin, I found it on Kijiji for 15 dollars Canadian....
it works perfectly and it is almost the size of my printing volume, just
missing one centimeter in Z to be fit perfectly with the printing
volume of the printer

The little piece I print is a turret for the HMS Ajax at 1/1250 scale and
sadly the green color of the resin and my phone camera did not render
the detail, but the turret is only 6.5 mm by 11.5 mm long, I will try to
print with the grey resin so it will be more easy to see all the details

Money, money, money ... all in all the total I paid for this little gem is
405,00 Canadian include shipping and 15,00 Can for the little curring
box also one bottle of resin was include with the printer  ..... not bad.

Have a nice weekend
