What is better for vases? Pla or petg?

Just read an Instructables article "HOW TO MAKE A VASE WITH CURA 3.1 IN VASE MODE"  by nschreiber0813.

I have made them before out of pla but they keep leaking on me. I will up my extrusion % and check my speed.

Just wondering if petg offers better water proofing

I have also been playing around with this and I found that upping the wall thickness and % infill. I found this helped a lot..

how do you up the wall thickness in vase mode? It is one perimeter thick.

It seems, that in Vase mode the walls are always only one perimeter...so this is no option for me, only experimental.
You can set the top layer to zero aund the other walls to for example 1mm or 4 perimeter, then you have a vase, too...

true, I stand corrected. I use cura and the vase mode is not the easiest. Sorry for the confusion.

To help with the original problem perhaps reduce the print speed so the layers have time to bond?

Yeah. I made that mistake  a lot. I was going way too fast for case mode.

I guess its time I said something here - I did a bunch of vases a while with PLA. The one thing that I found helped the most was going from a .4 nozzle to a .8 nozzle but also had good results with a .6 nozzle. With the .8 I doubled the wall thickness. Just another idea which is easy to try.
Laser: was an A3 2.0w TTL L6 Z axis now 2'x3'
OpenBuilds ACRO 510 w/ 2.0W TTL laser Cohesion Mini Z axis Homing switches
K40 Cohesion Mini 60W LightObject LPS
          80W Red-Black 500x700

cool is simply a subjective state of mind

I have not tried since installing my 0.7 nozzle... I will give it a go and report back, once I fix the printer!
But would nozzle size really have an effect on the quality of vase mode? I cant see how if you change the settings accordingly.
