New Nano
« on: June 06, 2018, 08:18:53 PM »
Hi guys,

So I ordered a new nano as a replacement, just incase anything was to happen to the current one.

Is there a copy settings function that can copy over how the machine is set up/current Grbl configuration ?

What the steps to insert the new nano ?

Kind regards,
Bryce

Hi Bryce,
I think it is as easy as just plugging the nano into the board and updating the firmware via an application like benbox or T2Laser. Others will chime in and correct me if needed but this is what I did and it works fine.

Laser: 2500mw A5 eleksmaker L5, K40 with Cohesion3D mini board, air assist, laser pointer etc..
OS: Windows 7, Debian, OpenSuse, Kali
Software: T2Laser, laserweb4, Repitier, Cura
Prusa i3 Clone GT2560
Anycubic Kossel Delta ramps

Awesome, so even if I had changed certain $ values to suit my setup, it should be copied over fine?

No the $ parameters wouldn't copy over, but just download them from the current Nano and send to the new one.

Otherwise it's just as kibodwin said, plug it in and load the firmware. This assumes you got one with the boot loader installed, most do except the kind you solder yourself.
