I am 3D printing an enclosure for a 24 element neo-pixel ring, 3.7V battery, switch, and Arduino Mini Pro board. Sloooooooow printer!!! Will post new pictures when working (I hope).

Printed, assembled,  programmed, and a total bust!! The lines cut thru the mirror are apparently very pp;arized and only the light directly behind the cut makes it thru. Damm that really crisp burning laser!! Need a light source that is much more intense and diffused. Thinking about:

1. Painting the inside of the box with sliver mirror paint and mounting the the led ring upside down such that it reflects off the bottom.
2. Using an additional inner ring of LEDs.
3. Building a circuit board with many more LEDs.

If the LEDs are bright enough you could try some diffusing material between the light source and the mirror? From my experience making a shadow box, a low GSM sheet of tracing paper, or 40GSM bank layout paper worked well to diffuse the SMD LEDs I was using.
