Question on Grayscale
« on: July 13, 2018, 01:04:45 PM »
Hi All
I have a question(actually two) on the G-code Viewer.
1. What should the picture look like when I check to see what it will look like when I engrave it. I see a a lot of yellow in the picture, how would I know beside engrave if I have the correct resolution?
2. Is there a way to change the speed of the simulation, mine is set to 2 (default) as it take forever to see the output.
I have been using 254 as mine default DPI and 0.1 as mine resolution, and I adjust the feed rate according. Also what kind of wood do you used for a better output?
Thanks
Rod

There are several options for the “view”, it sounds like you are seeing yellow for laser 0 power.

Resolution is usually set for the quality and speed, the “correct” setting depends on many factors.

You will see the complete result immediately, running the simulation is only necessary on vector when you want to see the paths. Yes you can change the speed.

Check the manual for all the keys associated with the simulation view.

254 dpi and 0.1 resolution is correct for sizing.

I’ve had good results with birch but many woods are acceptable.
