It means you have switched to Machine coordinates, the default is Workpiece coordinates.
You will find several references in the manual.

If you have home switches the machine coordinates is actually very useful and you can use them for preset positions. It allows you to setup fixtures or jigs for item placement.

What add on board? You only need 2 switches and wire, nothing else is required.

Interesting. I don't see any information on which pin or pins it uses.

It looks to plug in to the expansion port on the the mana se 3.1 board. Per the attached it should use D10,D11 and D12

D9, 10 and 12 most likely, as D11 is the PWM output for the laser.
So basically it's just a breakout board with connections for the switches, but you could also just connect to the header pins without this extra board.

Both boards appear to have x 7x2 header. Labels on the main.

I was looking at doing that but before I purchased the switches they released this board an I feel it will make for a cleaner look in my system.

Unless it come with the typical lack of accurate/readable documentation and you fry the controller or you waste the next 8 weeks trying to get non-existent cables because they twisted the wires to make the simple difficult. I'm usually not this cynical but this is a new product from China.
