I have no trouble sharing the code. Attached are 2 files for the lion. My host burn utility ignores any pixels that are solid RED, GREEN or BLUE. The png for the lion has its outline in green so I can quickly burn with fuzzy outline or not. Also has blue cutout near knees.

For my use:
   RED         generate vector outline
   GREEN    entirely ignore
   BLUE       generate internal vector cutouts

I suspect there are better schemes.

Parts are etched and cut. Attached picture with pieces just loosely placed.

Ended up with 4 layers. Base layer is 1/8 (3mm) basswood, next three are 1/16 basswood excep the sea shells which are 0.5mm maple veneer. Took over 6 hours to burn. In the end I suspect a single layer etching will look better. This type of job is better suited  for a wood cutter however wife has image she wants laser etch/cut.

If I was to redo:

1. Etch the sea shells onto their respective base part.
2. Reduce the intensity of the floral background.
3. Enhance the intensity of the shield lion.

It does look a little better than the picture.

That really looks nice!  Would you be willing to sell me the result?  I've got a single layer engraving of the crest already, but I was thinking it would be really interesting to make it a multilayered cutting with different colored woods.  I just received some new veneers from Cards of Wood and they will really enhance this project.

I'm interested. Would you want the cut/burnt one and or the design files?
