EleksMana V5.2
« on: October 19, 2018, 12:54:23 AM »
Hi Folks,
after the purchase EleksMaker® Mana 3 Axis Stepper Motor Driver Board Controller,
https://www.banggood.com/3-Axis-Stepper-Motor-Driver-Board-Controller-Laser-board-For-DIY-Laser-Engraver-p-1015947.html?rmmds=search&cur_warehouse=CN
which would use this board for laser engraving and CNC Engraving Machine with EleksMaker® 555 Spindle Motor
https://www.banggood.com/EleksMaker-555-Spindle-Motor-Replacement-Parts-for-EleksMill-CNC-Engraving-Machine-p-1200832.html?rmmds=search&cur_warehouse=CN.

I have a question for the connection. I'm interested, this connector  (marked in the picture) 14-pin,
for what it is? Can I connect the external control XYZ? If yes, please recommendations.
Where they can connect EleksMaker® 555 Spindle Motor?

Thx.

The header breaks out some of the Nano pins, they are labeled on your diagram. You could use these for home / limit switches or some other custom purpose.

The 555 spindle motor can connect to the motor port, it is a PWM 12V output from Q3 (MOSFET). I would not recommend using any larger motor as the MOSFET doesn't have a heat sink so 2A max. If you add a heatsink and fan it would double the current.

What do you mean by "external control XYZ"? If you are thinking of job switches, that's possible but you would need custom firmware.

I have these Endstop Limit Switch With Cable For CNC 3D Printer:
https://www.banggood.com/Mechanical-End-Stop-Endstop-Limit-Switch-With-Cable-For-CNC-3D-Printer-RAMPS-1_4-p-1067211.html?rmmds=search&cur_warehouse=CN
can I use them? If yes please show me how.

On green connector (other GND/12V)? Here I thought connect the fan

I would not recommend using any larger motor as the MOSFET doesn't have a heat sink so 2A max. If you add a heatsink and fan it would double the current.

Thanks for this advice

I thought of something like this:
https://www.banggood.com/4-Axis-Pendant-Handwheel-with-Emergency-Stop-for-CNC-Machine-p-1219008.html?rmmds=search&cur_warehouse=CN
is that possobile?

Thx

It depends on your software and firmware, using T2Laser and my default firmware you connect X and Y home switches in parallel from D9 to GND (both are available on that header).

If you use my custom 1.1f XY Home Sw. firmware then you separate X to D9 and Y to D10.

I also support Z-XY where you use D9, D10 and D12 for XYZ. Then you enable homing in the menu and it works.

I think the green is constant 12V (fan) and the blue is PWM switched (motor).

To enable an external controller like that you would need custom firmware.
