Using T2Laser to engrave on Cylindrical Objects

like a cheap lathe head or the 3d printed stuff... I found a local guy that can print for the cost of the plastic...

I started printing his but got distracted. I'm printing the drag chain for my x axis right now. It kept getting caught on the stepper motor and ruining engravings

I was going to but could never get a decent connector that would allow the range of movement. I need a swivel for my x axis because the cables aren’t long enough to hav the chain fold sideways

I just ordered the longest cable that eleksmakers website offers along with the drawing servo attachment.  Hopefully I wont need the longer cable cuz I dont want to wait for the package from china!  Finally got the drag chain printed... here goes nothing.

I used cat5 cable to extend my elekscables, didn’t mind all the soldiering as it gave gave me practice.

What is the procedure to prepare the glass for laser etching?

I spray paint it with black primer. let it dry then etch.  Then use loki's patented Goof Off paint remover to remove the paint.

What kind of glass? Flat or cylindrical?

For flat, I have used paint and black paper underneath it. Not methods work well

I have used spray paint and acrylic paint on wine glasses and both paints work well. Acrylic is a LOT easier to get off than spray paint (warm water versus Goof Off)
