first laser engraver
« on: October 17, 2019, 10:45:48 AM »
hi all
I have just finished putting together a 3000mW Blue CNC Laser for universal engraver
installed t2 and imported my logo but after generating the g code it only shows half the image?

You obviously have the trial (unregistered) so there's a 10,000 line G-code limit, reduce the resolution (higher value like 0.2) and depending on the size and complexity you'll see the entire result.

thanks I was hoping it was something simple and not a problem with the engraver
found this forum after already buying the laser seams it may not be the best model
it did come with the blue board not the red if that makes a difference

The blue is newer, I can't really say improved as it uses a cheaper Chinese Nano clone which has been reported many times to have overheating / memory issues. I bet they saved at least 20 cents with that change, oh well.

For your first etch you might want to get a small calibration test, Square, circle etc and some scrap cardboard.

yeah tried doing some squares last night while I waited for the key code from zax
they didn't work lol the lines didn't match and one side of the square wasn't straight  every time I tried
looks like I need to check the belts
hope I don't regret getting this machine

Post a picture of the result and we can guide you in the right direction, likely it's losing steps because of friction or over tight belts but hard to say without seeing the result.

I would check that the carriage and gantry are not loose, it looks like something has play in it that is causing this.
