I have created a simple autocad dwg file (release 2020) and saved it as dxf (release 2000/LT2000).
T2 tells me the format is invalid. What am I overlooking here?

Best regards,
Maarten Weers

It loads correctly, are you using Import DXF? (shortcut is right click the load icon)

Hi Zax,

To my surprise, I cannot repeat the issue. Open the file without an error message. I was thinking, maybe because I tried to open the file first as a r2018. After this error I tried again with older versions, all with the same error. Is it possible your program goes in error mode once and keeps in this state, even if you try to open a correct dxf afterwards?

Anyway I have a look at it tomorrow, good to know the file is ok.

Another question, the file contains several layers, to control the power of the laser. I cannot find enough info how these colors can be attached to the different power value. I read something about the colors black, red, green, yellow, magenta, blue and the values 100-0. I gave the layers the dffererent colors but see no effect in t2.

best regards,
Maarten

It was probably because the file was open / locked in your CAD program. T2Laser never locks files as it only reads them but other software.

The paths need the color not the layers, it's possible to have multiple colors on a single layer if you choose.

The colors are listed in the manual along with the default power values but of course there are many options, you can change the power level assigned or use colors for feed rate, sequence, cut vs engrave etc.
