Weird Double Engraving
« on: February 27, 2020, 02:50:35 PM »
I'm engraving wood coins that are 1.5" in diameter. When I resize the PNG file in T2, then engrave, I'm getting these weird duplicate lines. Any ideas? Resolution is set to .05 and image size is 35mm.

Looks like backlash to me, also that resolution is too low. Most lasers are 0.18 to 0.24 depending on power and lens.

Run the circle from the Help / Samples menu and see if the ends line up.

You can also disable bi-directional mode, both will show you if backlash is the cause.

Why is the outside circle so crisp then?

Exactly, and I would not call it crisp either.
