Ok cool. Will this process change the speed I set? I had to set it at 50 to burn through the Mylar.

Raster (engraving) and Vector feed rates will be different, you will be able to go faster and still cut successfully.

Ok, so it is only necessary to spray paint (flat black) one side of the Mylar before cutting out the stencil. No need to paint both sides or whatever the Mylar is sitting on.

Is there a T2laser setting for quickly burning a photo on paper without burning through the paper? Image is about 254mm by 254mm

Paper can be very difficult to engrave as itís typically reflective, try a smaller image to start. Leave laser max at full power and adjust the feed rate to get the correct burn.

What is the fastest setting for burning a black and white photo on wood with T2 Laser? It doesnít have to be a deep burn, I just want to make sure I have most of the black/white and shaded areas pretty clear. Photo is about 254mm by 254mm

The technique is always the same, to achieve the fastest performance set laser power to max and adjust feed rate to the level of burn you require. Resolution should match the laser spot size so for maxiumum speed use 0.2 and de-focus the beam slightly if you get lines.

Ahhh. Ok, so I am getting lines because I have the laser set the the finest pinpoint?? That makes so much sense now. That is what youíre saying right?

Lines can also be from backlash or other mechanical issues but if it's consistent then it's probably because the spot size is slightly smaller than the resolution (step distance). If you lower resolution to 0.15 then it may start overlapping in which case you can get dark lines. The ideal value is usually 0.16~0.18 when focused to the finest point but 0.2 is what I would use for speed.

Please help. I have been cutting Mylar just fine for several days. Iím tracing the image in Inkscape and exporting as .dxf. Iím importing into T2Laser and starting my burn just like normal, but suddenly I canít cut through the black, spray painted Mylar. I have no idea what happened... I have the laser as focused as it can be. Any ideas?

Have you changed any Grbl parameters, check the $30 value (spindle max).

I donít think so... maybe accidentally? Where would I have done that in T2?

Iíve managed a workaround for now by using the cutting profile 1 pass slow. But what is weird is that I havenít made any changes between cuts as far as Iím aware...

You wouldn't accidentally change it in T2Laser but other software may change firmware and/or parameters without asking.

The only value in T2Laser is laser max which should be 255 with my firmware and parameters.
