TurboCAD (takes some getting used to but works well - the deluxe version on sale is usually cheap)
Inkscape (free, but has some quirks)
CorelDraw (not really a CAD program but a good all round drawing app)

I got the Turbo CAD, Design CAD 3D Max. My opinion it sucks! I guess if you do CAD every day, it may work, To me the program is like killing flies with a shotgun, It has a lot of horsepower for major tasks.  But for simple ones, it seems cumbersome for simple 2D drawings. I downloaded QCad and at this point I could figure out how to use some of the basic functions in a few minutes.  In DesigCad I spent several hours trying to figure out basic functions. It has been a while but I have some contact with some CAD programs and 3D modeling.

I used AutoCAD LT for work and have been using DraftSight because I cannot get autocad dxf files to import into T-2. I have been using polylines to work in BCL but they will not upload into T-2 so I will try going back to segment lines and see if it works. DraftSight has several dxf file saves, which format works best with T-2 Binary or ASCII.

T2Laser requires line/polyline segments in ASCII format, I suspect your output has arcs which BCL supports as it uses Grbl 0.9i but that won't work for scanning (engraving) as it stops and flushes the buffer at every spindle speed (laser power) change.

In the future Grbl 1.0 may support lasers, but it likely won't run on a Nano due to the memory constraints so we will need to upgrade to a Mega 2560 or something else.

I don't have AutoCAD LT or DraftSight at the moment but if you find out how to export correctly let me know and perhaps we can add it to my DXF export guide.

I would like contribute to this list, but I haven't try it for laser.
It is still a trial software:

Autodesk ArtCAM 2017 - http://www.artcam.com/

It could generate Toolpaths.
The introduction only exposed for 3D wood/metal engraving and carving.
But in the commercial video there is also laser cutting and engraving, as a 2D project.
No skills, but willing to learn Computer Engineering.

I tried the Trial version but could not get a good .dxf file export that would load into BenCutLaser  :(

I'm not sure why...when I looked at the file inside QCAD, I could see it wasn't a usable drawing at all, so maybe the trial version is just so you can play around with the interface but not really export any files.

The cost is reasonable, I may pay the $26.00 to see if the Paid version works.

I just found a nice tool at instructables to add a piece of software to SketchUp, which cab save directly into gcode, including multiple passes.
It also can put more objects than 1 into multiple sheets for various thicknesses of material, like 3, 4, 5 mm of acrylic.

http://www.instructables.com/id/Export-Laser-Cutter-GCODE-From-SketchUp/

The maker shows a good method of compensating for the size of the beam.
The maker shows a piece made out of two 3 mm parts and one 4 mm part.

I haven't tried it yet, but I soon will try it out.

While it is not specifically a CAD tool it does allow us to take 3D models and turn them into drawings that we can laser cut and then assemble into 3D models.

All those apps look pretty cool. Thanks for sharing Agastar!

I've been playing around with FreeCAD the last few days.
