Nice,.

I am still in design mode and play around mode. I have never set up a coreXY setup before, so I bought a MDF board today to add my steppers and whatnot to. Figure I should just test out the method and get my design ideas down before I start making a custom-made system. Cotta crawl before I can walk.

I will post the 3D printed parts. Have a few tweaks to verify.

My printer has been quite busy doing your rotary fixture. Completely fails trying to print the adjustment knob. I think there are a lot of extractions and the filament is 3 year old. Breaks inside the hot end after about 20 minutes.  I also broke a tab. Patched with a hand held filament extruder.

You may need supports for it. Heck, I made that in tinkercad a while back when my 3D skills sucked.

Attached is picture of my core-xy fixture with the 1.6W laser and a picture of the first etching. The precision is pretty good. The "l" in the technologies is 5 pixels wide in Gimp and 0.5mm wide with micrometer.

Speed was 600mm/min & power was 25%.

That looks great,

can you post where you guys get the 8020 extrusion from, I want to price check the local suppliers.
It seems they are slightly cheaper than buying from china, but I would like to see how much you pay in the US to see if I need t okeep shopping or come up with a better idea.
I can get window and door frame aluminium extrusions cheaper, they are far more common and my housemate was a glazier and still has contacts. Considering doing this..

We get a 90% discount on domestic orders so they can markup the exports to Australia.
