Great. Thanks for the fix.

I will do some more testing but it seems to work great.

Is the latest version always found in the link in your signature, Agastar?

Cory
now: 17x20cm 500mW engraver with Eleks L7 board.
30x40cm 40W CO2 Chinese laser with bad PS (replacement PS on the way)
future: maybe a 30x40cm 2500mW from Banggood if Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals are good?  :-)

That is correct but let me make sure it is still playing well with BCL. Also, try exporting to T2LMode and import to BCL and see if you get the same thing.

Aha!  I switched to T2L mode in Convert2DXF and it worked fine, no warnings at all with my butterfly image when loading into BCL.

Moderators: I know I've now got a single issue spanning multiple threads, feel free to combine into one or prune it if needed.

I'll take a look at the files you posted in the other thread and see if I can see what is going on.

Hi Guys,

I found your software thread from the "wanting modellers info" thread.  I'm an engineer and a ship modeler and have had this issue a number of times (i.e. having a PDF or other file of a vessel and wanting to put it in Rhino - my software of choice) but there is no good options out there that I have found.  I recently bought a Chinese laser cutter/engraver and was hoping some day to be able to cut model parts out just as you are describing.  So your software here is a good time saving thing for me as it will replace a lot of manual work.

Unfortunately I have not been able to get any real results from it.  To test it, I made a simple drawing (2D) of a box, a circle and an ellipse and then printed them out as PDF files (see attached) in both a raster and vector output.  I also printed it to a printer and then re-scanned it back in as a PDF.  I then tried to do the conversions and only the vector output PDF did anything and that is missing the square and the circle and Ellipse are skewed.  These were done for both the T2Lmode and the BCLmode with the same results.

What have I missed?

Scott

I looked at your Vector dxf file. 2 of the 3 Units of Measurement were set but not the third one so I set it to MM and did a save as -2 in my QCAD program.

Then I opened it up inside BCL and it opened fine. See attachment.

You'd have to resequence the drawing objects as the Splines are all grouped together but they follow specific Line objects. BCL can do that for you pretty easy. I generated gcode and sent it to the BCL Virtual Laser Machine (VLM) and it ran fine.

You should be able to laser this dxf file using BCL but if you can't then I would suggest you read the following links:

In addition to those links, I have a Quick Start Guide video on my Youtube Channel here:

If you're having the same issues with T2 Laser, @Zax will help you as well.

I'm not sure why the true vectors didn't export correctly but scanning it back in creates a raster which isn't compatible.

You would just load an image directly in T2Laser for engraving, and can trace it if desired to make a vector.
