I don't think that would be a problem, you should still get some activity.

If it can drive from Benbox (older Grbl) then it should be able to work with Grbl 0.9 or above.

It because the nano that cause the problem Not sure which one 328p or usb-ttl chip that doesn't work with grbl (0.9+).


To prove it was the nano failure, I clone the latest grbl source (1.1d) and modified it to match mega2560 pinout and it works find.  ;D
Look like I've to use the Mega2560 for my build and to support the future release of grbl. 8)


btw: T2 is great software it easy to use except it has no visual interactive like benbox. It would be great if you implement this feature.

T2Laser has always had a simulation "view", it's in the laser control screen. Click "View" in upper right of G-code window, you can see what is going to be output and also run the code at various speeds. Now it even works with velocity mode where speed is used for the grey scale control instead of laser power.

No Zax I mean a small dot moving relatively to the laser head while sending gcode.  :)
The "view" you mentioned actually is the "preview" of the output.

It's a simulation... just not a live simulation ;)

OK, now I see what you mean. I've never understood the purpose, you've got the laser right there and can see what it's doing ;D

Once I hit the start button, I don't usually look at back at the monitor too much. It's still a new toy and it is kinda mesmerizing lol.

Where the "simulation" is nice is when you have something expensive, ready to go under the laser. Or you only have one to get it right.

I guess I don't see how that helps, it's already being burned.

The "View" feature in T2Laser is completely independent and shows what the G-code will produce, so serves the same purpose.

If there's good reason to back plot what is sent so you can watch on the monitor what it's doing, or use the status reporting for real time plotting (even better) I can do that but I'm not convinced  :-\

I'm sorry Lob, I've no idea about segment or block buffer, to answer you No I've not change any code except cpu_map.h and some relevance files.
May I ask what is the benefit of increasing it?

Successful dry run in T2Laser. BCL still has some problem with the Mini-Mega it will not finish even the first shape now. I am sure it can all be worked out. I think it is linked to the new reporting format. I see some problems in BCL on a Nano also that were not there before!

I will have to try it out on a machine tomorrow. I have an L6 mounted on the test machine right now and the adapter will not fit on an L6/L8 board. I will have to get some sockets and wires installed for homing switches on the adapter. I might slip in the 3 pin TTL socket at the same time!

Edit: I went ahead and used the overrides to set them. The segment buffers are at 10 and the block buffers were at 36. I have tried the block buffers at 40 and had no problems. Laser Mode is working and except for the BCL problems, which I expected from prior Mini-Mega tests, it is working!
