Title: Laser Speed
Post by: mikeCAD on July 30, 2017, 12:34:36 AM
Dears,

yesterday I made my first try (one year after  I bought it ;-)

It seems that the speed settings have not a big influence in the speed the laser does - it is very slow.
Is there somewhere a setting which limits the speed to a other value than in T2 is indicated?

Thanks a lot

It should make a huge difference, so something isn't right.

Do you have Grbl 1.1e installed? If not do that, if you do, click Reset Grbl Parameters.

The default allows 5000 as maximum speed, which should be plenty.

Are you engraving an image (raster)? If so, make sure you are adjusting Feed Rate (Engraving).

Are you cutting or vector engraving? If so change the Feed Rate (Vector).

Dear Zax,

thanks for your fast post.
Sorry for this "beginner-question", but is it correct, that I have to flash the firmware with the GRLB by using arduinio IDE, or is there a other way?

Thanks and best regards

Michael

No, it's much easier than that.

In the Laser Control screen, make sure the correct COM port is selected, click the Machine menu and then Upload Firmware (1.1e).
