Someone else on this forum has a Banggood DIY laser machine and we have confirmed it is the same one that is also sold by AilExpress. So they are the same machines.

Your very welcome. Do you have the Banggood DIY Laser machine? Or have you not ordered a machine yet?

Do you have any recommendation for cutting 3mm balsa and 3mm plywood?

Here is my gcode I manually wrote to successfully cut 3mm plywood. Note it depends on exactly which kind of plywood you are using...so you'll have to test different passes. Also be sure to have a honeycomb "spoil board" under your wood so the heat has an escape path. You'll find it harder to cut wood successfully if its laying on a flat surface.

Use Universal Gcode Sender or Grbl Controller software (both are free) to load in the file and send it to the laser.

My laser is a 2.5 watt unit.

This gcode makes 6 passes to cut the square out. Add or remove the cut 'blocks' to adjust as needed.

FYI - I plan to test cut Balsa wood this weekend.
