Hello,

I hope someone can help me with the following.
 
Iam using the laser cut program for some time now and it works just fine om my Banggood set with a 3000mW laser.
 
But this week the board burned on the laser circuit, but the laser was still worked on an separate powerset.
 
Along with the set I also ordered a Eleksmaker v5,2 board which works after flashing with the 1.1e.
 
But the strange thing is that the Laser connector is giving a constant feed of 15V which also has blown (I think) my laser because its not workig anymore.
 
The program is working with the board and the stepper motors, but I donít understand why the 15V is continuosly on the laser connector.

On the board the laser is with 3 pins + / gnd / S  which I connected to the Laser board and connected the S on the ttl pin but it stays on the 15V output to the laser.
 
I hope anyone can help and thanks in advance.

+ should be 12VDC relative to GND but as the power supply is unregulated it could read 15VDC without a load, that's normal.
The signal (S) pin is a PWM TTL output.

Are you saying the signal pin has 15VDC or the +?

I have no problem that the reading is 15 V in stead of 12 V because its not under load.

But what I mean is that the 15V is constant on the pins directly to the laser.

I have pinned the V-meter on the plug where the laser is plugged in.

I can imagine that that should be giving a ready when the laser is needed during cutting and not all the time.

Hope the pickies makes it a little clear

The voltage should be constant, it isn't switched. The TTL/PWM is what controls the output.

If you are getting 15VDC on the LD output then the laser diode would be fried as the voltage from the constant current driver is supposed to be around 3.5~4.9VDC.

When making the pics I think that I have seen what the problem is.

When burning the laser route in the old board I think there was also an overload on the laser board itself.

Because it shows that the part on the pic is cracked and looks blownup

The question now is what would be a nice laser to use with the Eleksmana V5.2 board.

And for cutting balsa wood and 3mm ply.

I prefer the EleksMaker laser modules, 2.5W for engraving or 5.5W for cutting. The NEJE, AtomStack and Ortur modules sold as "30W" which is approximately 5.5W output are popular alternatives but you may sacrifce some lifetime. There are other generic modules that are cheaper but quality is varied.

Thanks for your help and advice I will look into the Eleksmaker laser and the alternatives and will post an update if the system is running again.
