General Discussion / Control board differences?
« on: April 10, 2019, 11:41:37 PM »
can someone tell me the differences between the various eleks boards? L1 l2 l3, now i see mana se boards around.
I have an old eleksboard l1 with weak laser button, i replaced the drivers (years ago) with good quality ones because i have custom  ungry stepper motors and it works just fine, however i'd like to buy a backup board and I am little confused!!
I also have a new, never used ttl laser took from medical equipment and i would like to play with it.

the old laser diode can pop-off with some pressure from output side, new diode is placed by pressing it in the cleaned and greased slot! have a look on youtube.

Hello everyone,
i need to replace the diode of my laser head, it is a "they say is a 5500mw" laser module but dont want to buy a full setup and just replace the diode inside.

My laser module is exactly this one:

The diode i want to put inside is this:

Can you tell me if eveything is okay? i am not really an electronics expert.

Zax, everything works.

Thank you very much

OK, I think I misunderstood what you were doing.

You would need the direction bits swapped too:

  #define X_DIRECTION_BIT   6
  #define Y_DIRECTION_BIT   5

I recompiled and attached it here.

My fault Zax, I didn't explain well. I'll upload this new file monday.

Thank you for now!

Zax, i have uploaded your custom firmware with xloader but when i click on jog buttons the axis move only in one direction, no matter if click left or right or up and down, I use x2 pololu drv8825 and one a4988 not sure if this could be usefull.

ps: I forgot to say that now axis are inverted (good)

Amazing, I didn't knew about this new firmware!
As for the limit swtiches we still need to finish this part, the machine is a prototipe.
I've ordered a protoner shield v.3.51 which can run that firmware too, but i'm still waiting for it.

Do i need to upgrade t2 laser to use this new firmware? is still use a very old version (4/5 months ago version)

Grbl 1.1e attached firmware has the X and Y axis swapped.

ty just read, i'll upload this in an hour.

Thanks! you have my e-mail I think, btw I still run jp 0.9, long time I dont work on machines.

For who want to know, we use this big machine to trace wooden cruise parts then we cut them with other machines. (Fincantieri cruises)

Hey Zax, thanks, i'll look on this.

not sure how to compile the firmware, never did that, maybe I could find something on the forum.

Will update.

Hello, we have build a very big engraver 4mt x 1mt, we need now to invert the axis so that x will be y and y x, it's possible to do that via firmware without swapping the cables? I tried to mess with $2 and $3 but without success.
We have also build a custom pcb to power two 1.8a steppers because one single driver wasn't able to give enough power.

T2 Engraving / Re: Dxf execution queue
« on: September 13, 2016, 09:31:00 AM »
I use turbocad,  my design is very complex, optimizing the paths will save at least 20mins every piece i send (i make clocks)
so is not possible right? ty

T2 Engraving / Dxf execution queue
« on: September 09, 2016, 01:32:49 AM »
Hello, a friend of mine created a svg file which i converted to dxf and imported on turbocad for some edit (mostly to the fix position and size)
I want to optimize it because now the "execution queue" order is a mess and it take double time to finish a piece.

So how I can change the order? it seems that the machine follow the last drawned object by queue

Thank you

Very cool, I was considering using a USB endoscope camera as it's very small and has a good macro for very little money. What camera did you use?

Hello mate!, A simple Microsoft camera but it is enough for me.
I just cut a small balsa plane to test the box and everything is perfect. Love this stuff!
