T2 Software Updates / Re: Installing T2Laser on my XP machine
« on: October 09, 2016, 12:06:13 PM »
Ciao Zax!
I tried as you written, this is what happens:

1) regardless to the values I put in GRBL ($100 & $101 parameters), when I move the arrows the machine moves always the same quantity. No way to let it change behaviour.
2) The very same thing happens with $3 parameter, arrows will not change direction, even if I put "0" or "3"
3) Microstepping is not allowed on the Eleks board since there's no jumper I could set. The M1,M2 & M3 signals are all floating (sure put to logic "1")
4) A final question, is in the image in my previous email, I don't understand I have to reprogram default values, TWICE, (this evening also three times...

Ciao Zax! Have a nice Sunday!
I tried to upload default values, but have been unsuccessful.
Here's what's happened:
After sending the default parameters, strangely, I need to do it TWICE ( :o) for some unknown reason; see the enclosed picture I get.
Then I tried move the laser to see what happens.. I got mirrored X & Y, and when I try to move using the arrows, I get GIGANTIC step movements in X and very tiny movements in Y axis.
So I tried to modify the parameters, since my machine, is home built using off the shelf pieces.
I have calculated (and these values where working correctly using BENBOX) :
X: 284.63 steps/mm
Y: 1519.83 steps/mm
using the original GRBL software I tried to modify these parameters with the commands:
$100= 284.63
$101= 1519.83
Then after, I rerun the T2 software, the parameters where correctly there, BUT nothing changed at all.
To be honest, I don't know the GRBL software very well, but I was thinking that a "guide" for the correct setup would be worth doing it, for the more public acceptance...
Anyway it's only a hint, & maybe, you already discussed it somewhere else.
ciao.

No, the Language setting was automatic, I haven't changed it by hand.
Now I was trying to reprogram the board, but I lost the link where it was discussed in this blog.
Can you be so kind to link me to the page since I was unable to find it?
Furthermore,
is there the possibility to "roll back" things and reuse the benbox software, with the software inside arduino nano, just in case I get stuck for some strange reason?
ciao

Ciao Zax,
I can ensure you that the windows installer 4.5 worked on my XP machine flawlessy.
Now I have to reprogram the Eleks board with grbl and try your software.
enclose the screenshot of the successful installation &  starting the program

Zax,
if it can help, & if you like it, I can also do some beta-test in my little lab.
I would enjoy helping, if possible :D

English is not a problem, for me.
If the branch release would be effected only on "cosmetic" aspects, not on functionality, I think that definitely it's worth doing it.
I ever thought that a lot of XP machines are still around.
As for the "release rate" you could face, I can say that your program (seeing the online videos, which are the reason of my first post here) is already enough for my purposes.
Personally I dislike alot "updates" not essential for the main purpose.
please let me know.

T2 Software Updates / Installing T2Laser on my XP machine
« on: October 02, 2016, 10:59:41 AM »
Hi,
I've tried this evening to install the T2Laser software instead the original Benbox machine; but surprising to me, I got:

"Prerequisite check for system component Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 (x86 and x64) failed with the following error message:
"Installation of the Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 is not supported on this operating system. Contact your application vendor."

Get stuck by this, I tried to search if there is a suitable version of Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5; but microsoft, unfortunately, discontinued XP  :P

Do you know if there is any way to overcome this problem without  nuking my pc?
Many thanks to any help
ciao

p.s. sorry if it's the wrong thread.

Benbox / Re: engraving jpg b/w images with benbox
« on: October 01, 2016, 11:16:53 AM »
Hi madmax & Zax!
I tried it but it doesn't work well.
The problem is that I got jpg imgs not bmp. The original image comes from a pdf file.
I turned them into jpg & cut the detail, I'm interested to.
Also there is a problem with the image ratio to make it multiple of *8*: if I do so, I will engrave a different thing.
Is there the possibility to turn images into dxf?

Benbox / engraving jpg b/w images with benbox
« on: September 28, 2016, 02:23:35 PM »
Hi to all!
I have a 0,5W xy table laser, and want to engrave precisely, a little b/w drawing.
My only constraint is that I want to resize the image just before start engraving.
To do so, in benbox, I loaded the image (you can find it attached).
Just resized it, really a bit, to the desired heght/width lenght and pushed the green ">".
All I get is just a etched rectangular contour of the image. With nothing inside.
After several tries, I just sent the original image, again,  to the xy table, but without resizing it.
This way, I get the image correctly etched, but with undesired
dimensions.
To make it even more strange, Yesterday evening I didn't have this problem.
This happened just after I "edited" the jpg image, making it in reverse, doble clicking and clicking the upper right little square
which appears when you try to "edit" the image a little. I did it in reverse (B/W) and reverse again.
Then after, benbox didn't worked well as before.
I also tried to reinstal benbox, but nothing happened.
Do anybody has this very same experience?
please let me know.
ciao

General Discussion / Jumper for (GRBL?) VERSION
« on: September 09, 2016, 01:30:59 PM »
Hi to all! :D
I've just programmed My eleks Maker L2 board and after removing the arduino nano, I found this jumper.
How could I know if it is properly set?
Is it written somewhere in the benbox software (ver 3.7.99), where this jumper has to be set?
I imagined it refers to the GRBL version, but could not find written it anywhere.
Pls have a look at the photo.

Buy and Sell / Engraver structure
« on: September 08, 2016, 08:09:35 AM »
Hi to all.
I'm searching for an engraver mechanical structure without controller & laser compatible with Eleks T2.
If someone has one, and want to sell it, please let me know.
Pls consider that I live in Italy, for the postage expenses.

Trouble Shooting / Re: X Axis runs only in one direction
« on: September 08, 2016, 03:56:02 AM »
Ciao ggallant571
sorry if I'm still mis-matching posts here, it's only because I'm still learning which is which and where is where here.
I've seen the schematics. Thanks for your nice reverse engineering work.
I bought the board and get the L2 version.
Do you know there are substantial differences between the various versions?
I wonder if the L2 could be a bugged version... :o ::)
ciao
